       Ingredients How to?

  • Kappa (Maravalli Kizhangu : Tamil, Tapioca : English) - 1 Kg
  • Green chilli - 2 Nos
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic - 5 nos
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Tamarind water (Not extract. 10 g tamarind dissolved in one cup of water)
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

  1. Take one green chilli and grind it to paste.
  2. Dissolve this paste and salt in tamarind water and add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder.
  3. Peel off Tapioca (Kappa) and boil it in this mixture (If you want kappa to be soft use cooker).
  4. After cooked spread in a plate and cut into pieces.
  5. In a pan heat oil put mustard and let it to splutter.
  6. Now put the Kappa pieces and fry for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with curry leaves.
  8. Serve with fish curry.

    Note: You can boil Kappa in water without any mixture.
    Tips: Add red chilli for extra hot.
